Another bites the dust! With a number of mixed martial artists recently making the move to professional wrestling, such as former Ultimate Fighting Championship fighters Matt Riddle and Phil Baroni, another man has joined their crusade, with Gzim Selmani signing a developmental deal with Word Wrestling Entertainment Performance Center.

The Albanian Selmani will be most known for his appearance in BAMMA, where he defeated ex-UK Strong Man Oli Thompson in 2014. He also competed in Bellator MMA, but lost to Daniel Gallemore by TKO.

As a heavyweight, Selmani was known for his big size, however less defined abs. Although a recent picture has emerged of “The Albanian Psycho” shredded, which is likely another reason the WWE signed him, with their notorious liking of muscle bound characters.

It seems that a growing number of fighters at the end of their MMA careers are deciding to move over into wrestling. Can you blame them? To some extent, should you acquire a deal with WWE, it’s a financially stable and viable option. Without having to be worried about being cut after a string of losses; because of course it’s scripted, the promotion tend to only release a handful of roster members a couple of times a year.

He amassed an average 4-2 record in mixed martial arts, but with his physique, and the well touted tuning of the Performance Center, expect Selmani to be a big player in the coming years over in the world of wrestling.
