K1 and MMA legend Crocop is back.

Former K-1 and PRIDE FC/Rizin Fighting Federation Openweight Tournament king, Mirko “Crocop” Filipovic will make his return from his short-lived retirement at Rizin Fight Federation’s annual end of year show.

Using the social media, Rizin President Nobuyuki Sakakibara announced today, that the Croatian is returning to competition and is targeting the promotions next New Years Event, held in Saitama Super Arena, December 29th and 31th.

Sakakibara also announced Crocop’s opponent for the event who comes in the form of Japanese veteran Tsuyoshi Kosaka.

Like the Croatian, the make nicknamed “TK” has faced some of the who’s, who’s of Mixed Martial Arts having on up against the likes of Fedor Emelianenko and 47-years old famed sumo wrestler Kaido Hoovelson, aka Baruto who he suffered a unanimous decision loss to in the first round of the tournament was Crocop crowned a champion, last year.

This bout will be Filipovic’s first since last December when he defeated King Mo, Baruto and Amir Aliakbari in the finals to win the Rizin tournament.
