It appears a war of words has erupted between British middleweights Tom “Kong” Watson and Michael “The Count” Bisping. The trouble between the two fighters appears to have started after Watson made what will appear to some as less then complementary remarks about the TUF season 3 winner in an interview with Fight Magazine.

During the interview Watson said of Bisping.

“Let’s take for example Bisping, you know, always telling everybody how he is great, top tenner and this and that. He has never beaten anybody who has fought for the title. Not won the title but even fought for one, so you know,”

Brash Brit Bisping seems to have caught wind of Watson’s remarks and took to twitter to make sure the man who hails from the South Coast of England knew what he thought about his comments.

“@UFC_UK @TomKongWatson haha you talk out your ass mate. Your fighting a washed up bum, I’ve fought legends my whole career check your facts!”

“@UFC_UK @TomKongWatson go and make a name for yourself, not off my back mate. Stop dropping my name to get attention. Hard work is the way.”

Watson seemed to be greatly amused by the Counts response and gave the following response, as well as bringing to Bisping attention a ather amusing Vlog entry (see below).

“@bisping @UFC_UK Sorry Michael. I value your input. You are a true legend. I’ve been working hard as u suggested”

With Watson scheduled to face former middleweight title contender Thales Leites at UFC 163 on August 3rd and “The Count” rumored to be facing Mark Munoz in Manchester on October 26th wins for both middleweights could set up a clash in the near future between the two.

MMAPLUS will bring you more on this developing story as we get it.
