British Middleweight Tom ‘Kong’ Watson (16-6) has been added to Manchester’s UFC Fight Night 30 card, set to face Alessio Sakara (15-10) on October 26.

Prior to joining the UFC, Watson earned a large domestic following as BAMMA’s World Middleweight Champion. The 31-year-old is looking to bounce back from a decision loss to Thales Leites in Brazil earlier this month, and is currently 1-2 in the UFC having lost to Brad Tavares upon his debut in the promotion, before claiming a Knockout of the Night bonus with victory over Stanislav Nedkov in February.

Italy’s Sakara could potentially be fighting to maintain his stay with the UFC, currently on a 3-fight losing streak. Nevertheless, ‘Legionarius’ brings a wealth of UFC experience, having been with the promotion since UFC 55, in 2005. A 3-fight win streak was halted in 2010 by Chris Weidman, followed by a knockout loss at the hands of Brian Stann. Sakara most recently lost via a disqualification due to striking the back of Patrick Cote’s head at UFC 154.
