It has this evening been revealed that top UK lightweight Ian Entwistle (8-1) is the latest British fighter to sign with the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

The Phuket Top Team fighter who holds the quickest win average in MMA took to Facebook to make the following statement:

“I have signed a four fight contract with the UFC worth more money than I have ever had in my life this is a dream come true for me I have been given permission to tell the world, this is just the beginning for me I will be the first English champion of the UFC or die in the cage trying. I want to thank everyone who has ever helped and believed in me along the way we are in this together and I am going to show the world I AM THE MAN and put Accrington on the map”.

MMA Plus recently caught up with Entwistle and the former accrington based fighter alluded to a big announcement and now we know that he has sighed for the worlds No.1 mixed martial arts promtion.

Enty who is currently riding a 4 win streak all via submission, has seen all of his career wins come in the 1st round, has defeating the likes of Patrick Vickers, Andy Green, Michael Bowman and more recently defeating Liam James in 0.24 seconds via heel hook in what many felt was the submission of the year at Cage Warriors 62 in December 2013.

Entwistle also made the following announcement concerning his new management deal: 

“I have also signed with the same agency as David Beckham, pat rafter and a lot more sporting superstars my life is honestly like a dream right now and can’t say thank you enough to everyone who has made this possible for me”.

There has been no news on who Entwistle will face on his UFC debut but MMA Plus will keep you up to date on this emerging story as we get.
