Anderson Silva

Brazilian news outlet Combarte.com has reported that former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva (33-6) was hospitalised on Monday.

After finishing a workout on Monday the P4P kingpin began complaining of severe back pains. The 39-year old was then taken to Barra D’Or hospital, in Rio de Janeiro and admitted for observation.

Silva was subsequently released today after being given the all clear and although there has been no official world from the man himself, it is not thought that the injury will jeopardise Silva’s scheduled fight with Stockton bad boy Nick Diaz (26-9) at UFC 183.

Anderson Silva will be making his long awaited return after suffering a horrific leg break against current middleweight champion Chris Weidman (12-0) at UFC 168 last  December and will look to end a 2-fight slide when he faces Diaz on January 31st in Las Vegas, Nevada.
