Both Tom Breese (pictured) and Siyar Bahadurzada claimed recent victories in the UFC and Sherdog.com believes that the welterweight contenders could be on a collision course, suggesting the match up in their prominent ‘Matches to Make’ feature following UFC 196.

Via Sherdog.comIn his first appearance since December 2013, Bahadurzada used all his tools to get past Brandon Thatch on the undercard. There, the 31-year-old welterweight put an end to a two-fight losing streak, as he submitted Thatch with a third-round arm-triangle choke. A former Shoot champion, Bahadurzada evened his record in the UFC at 2-2. Breese has started his career with 10 consecutive victories, nine of them finishes. The Tristar Gym prospect last fought at UFC Fight Night “Silva vs. Bisping” on Feb. 27, when he earned a unanimous decision over Keita Nakamura in London.

Since joining the renowned Tristar Gym in Canada and completing his UFC debut last year, 24-year-old British prospect Tom Breese has continued to impress with three UFC wins on an undefeated 10-0 record. With well rounded abilities and talent that saw him drafted in by Georges St-Pierre himself, Breese’s efforts have even sparked the notion that with time he could become the first British UFC champion.

Breese’s UFC development has seen the Birmingham born fighter progress from entry level contender to now facing seasoned veterans with vast experience. Following an opening round TKO victory against Brazilian Luiz Dutra, Jr in May of 2015, his breakthrough performance came against the more recognisable Cathal Pendred in Dublin where Breese battered the Irishman to force another first round TKO so destructive that Pendred retired soon after.

Breese most recently stepped up to earn a unanimous decision victory in his most significant challenge to date on Feb. 27 in London against the deeply seasoned Keita Nakamura, a veteran with 31 professional victories among a total of 41 outings.

In Bahadurzada he would be facing another vastly experienced mixed martial artist. The Afghan born fighter has 29 bouts to his name with 22 victories. While Japan’s Nakamura brings brings 13 years of pro MMA history to each bout, Bahadurzada brings his own record with some notable name recognition, featuring an earlier career bout with Evangelista Santos, plus a knockout win over Paulo Thiago and a decision loss to South Korean Dong Hyun Kim after going the distance with the top 10 contender.

Fighting out of The Netherlands, 31-year-old Bahadurzada is a product of the renowned Golden Glory team in addition to representing the Florida based Blackzilians. He most recently snapped a two fight slide by submitting Brandon Thatch this past weekend on the card of UFC 196.
