The Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) have today fined UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor (20-3) for the bottle throwing incident with Nate Diaz (19-11) which took place at the UFC 202 pre-fight press conference.

The Dubliner was fined $150,000, which is five percent of his $3 million disclosed payout and has also been order to sentenced to 50 hours of community service.

It had been suggested during the hearing that McGregor could potentially face a suspension which would result in the SBG Ireland trained fighter being unable to face lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez (28-4) at UFC 205 next month at Madison Square Garden but the 28-year old legal representative indicated that any suspension would lead to legal action against the commission.

True to form shortly after the conclusion of the hearing the brash Irishman would take to social media let the world know his feelings about the fine in typical McGregor fashion.

The fate of McGregor’s UFC 202 opponent Nate Diaz has been postponed so it remains to be seen what punishment he will receive for the part he played in the incident.
