ESPN Films’ 30 for 30 podcasts are set to release an audio documentary focused on ‘The Birth Of UFC’.

The episode titled “No Rules: The Birth Of UFC” will be one of five new sports audio documentaries launched as part of ESPN’s second season of 30 for 30 podcasts.

Episode one debuts on Tuesday, Nov. 14, with the other four premiering every Tuesday through December 12, ESPN announced by press release.

On November 12, 1993, the Ultimate Fighting Championship began in Denver, Colorado through the vision of Art Davie and Rorion Gracie. The premise? A tournament to find out which combat sport was the most superior.

Almost 24 years on from ‘The Beginning’, ESPN looks back on that fateful night in Denver and its significance in molding the UFC into the sporting powerhouse which sold for $4bn in 2016

The audio documentary features interviews with Art and Rorion, as well as the founding fathers of the Octagon, legendary rivals Royce Gracie and Ken Shamrock

“No Rules: The Birth Of UFC” (produced by Pineapple Street Media)

In the early 1990s, salesman Art Davie and Brazilian jiu-jitsu master Rorion Gracie set out to answer a simple riddle: Who is the ultimate fighter? A wrestler? A boxer? A martial arts master? The answer, in the form of the first-ever ‘Ultimate Fighting Championship’ (UFC), was more violent and electrifying than anything else on TV. In the aftermath, a multi-billion-dollar sport was born, but Art and Rorion were left to watch others get all the credit. Featuring interviews with: Art Davie, co-creator of UFC; Rorion Gracie, co-creator of UFC; Royce Gracie, UFC Hall of Famer; Ken Shamrock, UFC Hall of Famer
