Less than a month out from the event, UFC Glasgow has suffered from a forced change to the card as Swedish fighter Lina Lansberg has pulled out of her scheduled women’s bantamweight bout with Leslie Smith. She will be replaced by Brazilian newcomer Amanda Lemos.

The withdrawal, first reported by Brazilian news outfit Combate, has yet to be formally acknowledged by the UFC and no reason has yet been given for Lansberg’s although it’s suspected she has suffered an injury.

UFC Glasgow, also known as UFC Fight Night 113, will take place on Sunday, July 16 at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland. The event marks the promotion’s first time returning to Scotland since July 2015 and will feature an exciting headline bout between welterweight contenders Gunnar Nelson and Santiago Ponzinibbio.

Former Cage Warriors star Lansberg (7-2) had previously beaten promotional newcomer Lucie Pudilova via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 107 in London. The fight was a rematch of the pair’s first bout at Battle of Botnia 2015 which the Swede also took on the judges’ scorecards.

Her UFC debut had not went so well as she was paired up against Women’s MMA phenom Cris “Cyborg” Justino in front of a rabid Brazilian crowd. Despite Lansberg’s bravery, Cyborg picked her apart and left her a bloody mess on the way to a second round TKO victory.

It was the first time Lansberg had tasted defeat since a loss to fellow countrywoman Pannie Kianzad on her pro debut in 2012.

Undefeated prospect Lemos (6-0-1), who replaces Lansberg in Glasgow, is the current Jungle Fights 135lb champion and has finished all six of her wins inside the distance since making her pro debut in 2014. The only blot on her perfect record is a majority draw with Mayra Cantuaria at Jungle Fights 85, however she would avenge that result in the rematch in June 2016, when she finished her opponent with a third round KO.
