Seo Hee Ham

It is rumoured that women’s atomweight fighter Seo Hee Ham (15-5) has signed a deal with the Ultimate Fighting Championship, according to The MMA Bulletin.

The South Korean, nicknamed ‘Hamderlei Silva’; after famous Brazilian MMA legend Wanderlei Silva, holds possibly the best nickname to ever grace the octagon.

She is the current DEEP Jewels 105lb title, but upon her UFC debut it has been reported that she will compete in the newly formed strawweight division.

The 27-year old made her mixed martial arts debut in 2007 and has competed for a number of top Asian WMMA promotions that include Smackgirl, Jewels and Gladiator.

“Hamderlei” has managed to rack up six-wins on the bounce on the Asian MMA circuit since a TKO loss to Ayaka Hamasaki in December 2011.

After taking a year and a half out of the cage, Ham returned in 2013, and since then has racked up wins over the likes of Ryo Mizunami, Shino VanHoose and Saori Ishioka in the last 18 months to earn a call-up to the world’s No.1 mixed martial arts promotion.

Ham’s signing has yet to be officially confirmed by the UFC, and a debut opponent of location has yet to be speculated, but MMA Plus will keep you updated on the situation as it develops.
