On April 11 at UFC Fight Night in Krakow, Poland, proud Scottish native Steven ‘Braveheart’ Ray claimed victory in his UFC debut with a dominant TKO stoppage in the second round against home favourite Marcin Bandel.

Ray (17-5) appeared to close in on victory late in the opening round with an arm-triangle-choke, but was unable to separate from his opponent’s half-guard, thus limiting the choke’s pressure; however, it wasn’t long into the second round before Ray secured the dominant position and rained down strikes to force the referee stoppage.

Post-fight, Ray discussed the bout with members of the media. The Dinky Ninjas Fight Team product detailed his difficult build up experienced on the road to the UFC, what the future holds for Scotland’s Dinky Ninjas Fight Team, how the trilogy of fights with UFC veteran Curt Warburton prepared him for the transition, and how the presence of UFC commentator John Gooden made him feel at home.
