Scottish lightweight Stevie Ray has been announced for UFC Nashville on April 22 and will face UFC veteran Joe Lauzon in a hard-hitting encounter according to UFC.com.

UFC Nashville, or UFC Fight Night 108, takes place at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee and features a main event grudge match between top featherweight Cub Swanson and SBG Ireland’s Artem Lobov.

Talented prospect Ray (20-6) has won four of his five fights in the UFC and most recently would take the scalp of experienced British fighter Ross Pearson at UFC Fight Night 99 in Belfast last November.

His only loss in the promotion came at UFC Fight Night 95 in Brasilia, Brazil to local favourite Alan Patrick who would claim the unanimous decision victory on the night.

The former Cage Warriors lightweight champion has trained at Tristar Gym in the past, and at only 26, has plenty of time to make an impact in the UFC’s 155lb division.

Fan favourite Lauzon, meanwhile, has recently bounced back from a close decision loss to Jim Miller at UFC on Fox 21 by beating Polish BJJ champion Marcin Held back in January.

With 23 fights for the promotion and a UFC run stretching back eleven years, the 32-year-old is known as a must-see fighter and has claimed 16 performance bonuses during his UFC career.

With both fighters on the verge of breaking into the lightweight top-15 and with fireworks expected in this battle, another win for either may see them take their place among the division’s elite.
