Former dual weight champion Tom “Fire Kid” Duquesnoy has today confirmed he has signed a deal to join the UFC.

Reports surfaced last week from french website L’Aviner de l’Artois that the former BAMMA Featherweight and Bantamweight champion was UFC bound.

The 23-year-old has now officially announced his move to the world’s biggest mixed martial arts promotion, the UFC, in a post on his Facebook page.

Duquesnoy earned his acclaim as one of the top European Bantamweights by winning two titles in BAMMA, where he won seven fights. “Fire Kid” remains undefeated since February, 2013.

Now training out of Jackson-Wink MMA in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the Frenchman has become one of the most highly touted talents among the MMA community, with many expecting him to make an immediate impact in the UFC.

His most recent victory came on December 16, where he successfully defended his BAMMA Bantamweight title against Alan Philpott by second round rear-naked-choke.

The original report also claimed Duquesnoy would make his debut on April 15, on a yet to be announced UFC event.
