UFC will continue their forays into the South American market in 2018 as they have revealed plans to maintain a strong presence in the region with five shows already pencilled in for next year.

In an exclusive interview with MMA Plus, Rodrigo “Minotauro” Nogueira, former UFC/Pride fighter and executive of UFC in Brazil, revealed the promotion is also ready to enter into other countries on the continent other than just his home of Brazil.

“With three events in Brazil (Fortaleza, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo) this year, the plan is two more events in South America, with no place defined yet”, said Nogueira

“We start to organize our first fight (show next year). The plan is five events in South America, with three of them in Brazil. Our office and staff is working hard to deliver the best events to fans and I’m excited for the next event in São Paulo, October 28th”.

Reports from Brazilian media source, Combate.comhave said that UFC tried to organize editions in Argentina and Chile this year but issues with logistics and scheduling meant the plans were shelved.
