Ashleigh Grimshaw

Ashleigh Grimshaw makes his long awaited return to BAMMA and the featherweight division when he faces Nad Narimani at BAMMA 21, which takes place June 13, from the Barclaycard Arena in Birmingham.

‘Cruiser’ Grimshaw (16-8), who trains out of the well regarded Team Titan, will make his first appearance since his controversial no contest to current BAMMA featherweight champion, Tom ‘Fire Kid” DuQuesnoy back in September 2014.

Grimshaw was scheduled to face Orestes Betran at BAMMA 19: Blackpool, however a late injury to the Brazilian saw that fight shelved.

Narimani (7-2) will be no stranger to mixed martial arts fans, as a former championship challenger who lost a hard fought battle to Alex Enlund.

Fighting out of Evesham, Worcestershire at Ronnie Mann’s Iron Mann MMA gym, Narimani is slick submission fighter, with 57% of his wins coming by tapout.

With Grimshaw’s high level Brazilian jiu-jitsu, expect to see a grapple-fest, with both men coming from submission based backgrounds.

Elsewhere, the card also sees the addition of a bantamweight contest, as the undefeated Gaz ‘Spitfire’ Pilot faces Shay Walsh.

Predators’ Pilot (6-0) made his last showing at BAMMA 17, where he submitted Dino Gambesta inside a round with a rear naked choke, and is one of the top prospects bantamweight has to offer.

After recently calling for a title shot over current BAMMA bantamweight champion “King” Ed Arthur, 12-3 Walsh; who recently signed a new multi-fight deal with the promotion, makes the drop to 135lbs after going 2-0 at featherweight.
