The British Association of Mixed Martial Arts have announced that lightweight contender Colin ‘Freakshow’ Fletcher has signed a fresh eight fight deal.

Known for his charismatic personality, flamboyant entrances and a pressing offence in the cage, Fletcher (11-4) most recently dispatched of the USA’s Michael Brightmon with a second round TKO at BAMMA 17 last December.

Fighting out of Unity Gym and Spartan Gym, the Sunderland native is currently 5-1 in his BAMMA career with further wins over the likes of Tim Newman, Tony Hervey and Jason Ball. Fletcher’s only loss on a BAMMA card was at the hands of current lightweight champion Mansour Barnaoui in 2013 when a dazzling back and forth war at BAMMA 14 ended with the Frenchman securing a submission victory towards the end of round one.

Fletcher’s next contest is yet to be announced.

The UFC veteran stated, “It’s an easy choice for me. BAMMA let me be the fighter that I want to be and let me express myself my way. They understand that I train my backside off in order to walk out and have some fun, and I love them for that!”

Ashley Bothwell, BAMMA Managing Director said:

“We are delighted that Colin has chosen the BAMMA promotion to continue his MMA career. He is undoubtably one of Europe’s most entertaining and talented fighters, and Colin brings the house down whenever he competes. He gives so much of himself in every performance, and I know that the fans appreciate that fact and love him for it. From a BAMMA perspective, it is another sign of the development of the brand. Europe’s best want to be a part of the hugely exciting journey that we are currently on, and Colin’s commitment is another sign of that.”
