A mouthwatering welterweight match-up between Leon Edwards (11-3) and Albert Tumenov (17-3) has been added to UFC 204 according to the UFC Europe’s twitter account.

Jamaican born, UTC Birmingham trained Edwards has gone 3-2 since making his promotional debut in November 2014 will look to record his second on the bounce when he faces his Russian opponent after dropping a unanimous decision to Kamaru Usman at UFC on Fox 17.

Despite this setback 24-year old ‘Rocky’ would quickly rebound back from the loss when he defeated Dominic Waters via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 87 last May.

When entering the Octagon Tumenov will be looking to get back to winning ways after suffering a 2nd round neck crank submission loss to Icelandic sensation Gunnar Nelson (15-2) on the same card that his opponent defeated Waters. Before this setback the man affectionately known as ‘Einstein’ was riding an impressive 5-fight winning streak which saw the K Dojo Warrior Tribe trained fighter defeat the like Matt Dwyer (9-4), Nicholas Musoke (13-4-1) and Lorenz Larkin (18-5-1) during the run.

The event will be headlined by a main event which will see newly crowned UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping (29-7) defend his title against the man who scored a highlight reel KO win over him at UFC 100 Dan Henderson (32-14).

UFC 204 goes down on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England. Stay tuned to MMA Plus for all the latest news, videos and fight announcements.
