It was reported earlier today that a battle between Liam James (8-6) and Ashleigh Grimsahw (15-8-1-1) was set to feature on the upcoming Made 4 The Cage 14: Addicted fight card.
But MMA Plus has learned in the last few minutes that the fight is rumoured to now take place on a future CAGE WARRIORS card.
Hailing from the Newcastle, England, Liam “Bad Intentions” James will be looking to bounce straight back from a shock 24 seconds heel hook, submission defeat at the hands of Ian Entwistle in front of a hometown audience at Newcastle’s, Metro Radio Arena at Cage Warriors 62.
In contrast, Grimshaw who hails from London, England is rumoured to be making his Cage Warriors return on the back of a five-fight win streak, with all wins coming via knockout or submission in the first round. ‘Cruiser’ most recently knocked out Masaya Doi in September of 2013 at Super Fight League in India. Prior to that, Grimshaw’s last UK contest was at UCMMA 33 where he produced a knockout victory over UFC veteran David Lee to capture the UCMMA featherweight title.
Sources close to the situation have informed MMA Plus that James has verbally agreed to take the fight under the Cage Warriors banner, but are awaiting confirmation as to weather or not Grimsahw is willing to face James on a future Cage Warriors card.
MMA Plus will bring more on this rapidly developing story as we get it.
