It has this evening emerged that Romanian middleweight Ion Pascu (9-5) is rumored to have signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

The Bucharest native who has featured prominently on the UKMMA scene in recently years has made a number of appearances for top UK promotions, which include UCMMA, BAMMA and Cage Warriors.

If true Pascu rumored move to the worlds number 1 mixed martial arts promotion will raise a few eyebrows as the ministry of martial arts trained fighter has gone 1-2 in his last three outings losing to top Swedish prospect Mac Nunes as well as current Cage Warriors middleweight champion Jack Hermansson.

Despite this recent dip in form the 32 years old has picked up a number of high profile scalps on the domestic scene which includes a 1st round knockout win over former BAMMA British champion and current Cage Warriors middleweight contender Jack Marshman as well as a decision win over Lee “The Butcher” Chadwick at BAMMA Fight Night 2 this past August. The news of Romanians signing is thought to be part of the UFC’s continued growth in Europe, Middle East and Africa.

At the time of writing there has been no official confirmation from the UFC but MMA Plus will keep you posted on this developing story.
