GLORY 19

GLORY 19, after being cancelled from its original date of December 19 2014, has been given a new date and location. The world’s premier kickboxing league have announced GLORY 19 will take place from Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, Virginia on Friday, February 6.

The event is set to be shown on SPIKE TV (9/8c) in the United States, and improves the channel’s Friday night “combat slot” which also features Bellator MMA.

CEO Jon Franklin teased ten events for 2015, and GLORY 19 will kick-start the promotion’s year with a bang, as they look to improve their consistency from a disjointed 2014.

As previously announced, Rico Verhoeven (44-9, 10 KOs) will defend his GLORY heavyweight world championship in the GLORY 19 main event against rival veteran Errol “The Bonecrusher” Zimmerman (103-11-1, 44 KOs). This fight will complete their trilogy, which dates back to January of 2012.

Verhoeven, 25, picked up the victory in the first bout at It’s Showtime 2012 in Leeuwarden by knockout, but it was Zimmerman who took the win when the pair met at  GLORY 9 in New York.

This match-up kicks off Verhoeven’s title reign as he makes his first title defense since winning the vacant GLORY heavyweight belt at Last Man Standing in June by defeating nemesis Daniel Ghita.

Additional bouts for GLORY 19, including the participants in GLORY’s one-night, four-man welterweight contender tournament, will be announced at a later date.

Tickets for GLORY 19 will be available for purchase online at ticketmaster.com starting on Christmas Eve, December 24.
