GLORY World Series have exclusively announced their new international distribution streaming deal with online media company, EverSport TV, which will see the GLORY 19: Virgina and GLORY SuperFight Series cards available globally, live and in high-definition on Friday, Feb. 6.

UK GLORY kickboxing fans have become accustomed to watching the promotion on subscription channel (British Telecom) BT Sport. Despite GLORY 19 not being scheduled on BT, GLORY Executive Director and Head of Digital Ivan Farneti has confirmed there are talks between the two parties over a new deal.

“We are in the process of establishing the schedule for 2015 and I think it’s just a matter of time to get that re-established. Our schedule for last year was upset by certain circumstances and we couldn’t deliver all the events that we planned.

“This year, we have a great solid foundation, very, very confident that we can deliver the ten events that we have announced and we plan on being on BT Sport pretty soon.”

Even with a potential new deal with BT on the horizon, Farneti described a “catch-22” situation which would allow GLORY to broadcast on BT Sport whilst streaming through EverSport TV to cater to different fan needs, as well as opening up the market to other international countries who haven’t been able to watch the product live or in full.

Farneti said: “We wanted to make sure that the GLORY SuperFight Series was available live around the world. We already have about 40-50 countries that have bought the SupeFight Series on tape delay basis. But sport is magic when it is live, and the quality of our prelim card is so high, and the fighters represent a plethora of countries, and we really wanted to give the fans from those countries the opportunity to watch their fighters live.

“The second thing is there are countries where we don’t call there at the moment, even with the GLORY main card, we have 30 deals with broadcasters around the world and we call at 140 countries every time, but there are countries where GLORY is either not shown live or it is not shown. There are still some dark territories. And we do want to have a solution whereby if you are from one of those territories, you can still watch the show live with all the magic and substance.”

EverSport are located in California, Silicon Valley and are dedicated to providing fans with opportunity to watch sporting events, live and in high-definition through laptops and mobile devices.

“They are in sports as much as we are, they are a young aggressive company, they speak the same language that we speak; sport and technology,” said Farneti. “And in 2015 sport and technology have a marriage that is going to continue and expand because fans want to watch, what they want to watch, whenever they want to watch it, on whichever device.”

Alongside content such as college sports, extreme rock climbing, and motorsport, Farneti believes that kickboxing definitely has a valuable place on the streaming platform.

“They have been super-fast, we have put the deal together in a week because when you see it, you think, ‘we have to do this’. They have a really good portfolio of college hockey and college football games. Their demographic is very similar to our demographic.

“The type of fans that they have are the male testosterone, action, action, action seekers and that’s exactly the same demographic that we have.”

With the deep archive of GLORY footage, the international sports brand also own back catalogues from It’s Showtime! as well as a large chunk from the beloved K-1’s millennium footage. All of which could mean a large amount of potential extra content for GLORY’s EverSport service.

“The approach that we are now using at GLORY is, we are a small company, we are crawling and we are just starting to walk, and once we get our feet we are going to start to run. This is the beginning of a partnership, we have an opportunity with content that was produced which wasn’t distributed in the same way we wanted to really distribute it. Once we see the reaction of the consumers, we see the numbers, nothing stops us from having original interviews, pre-fight interviews.”

As for the event itself, GLORY 19 is set to be a bolstered return for the organisation, who look to make a big impact with their first show of 2015 with a jam packed card of brutality.

Farneti said: “It is 11 fights, four hours, uninterrupted, top level kickboxing. Of course there is the heavyweight championship of the world, presented by Mike Tyson, it’s a big event, two massive guys with immense power, that is the highlight of the night.

“Joe Schilling is the up and coming star in American kickboxing. We have probably one of the most spectacular KO finishing athletes in Raymond Daniels, the guy does things that you see in video games. Then you have Nieky Holzken who is the most talented boxer in kickboxing today.

“In the SuperFight Series we have some of the younger guys, and there is certainly one I would point out. A Canadian guy called Josh Jauncey.” Farneti added, “he is completely unpredictable, incredibly entertaining and creative fighter.

“It’s like a Christmas dinner of kickboxing, an 11 course meal and they’re all great.”

The GLORY 19 and SuperFight Series stream will be available for $20 live and on demand for 24 hours after the event from www.gloryworldseries.com and www.eversport.tv.

The stream will go live Friday, Feb. 6, at 6:30pm East-Coast US, or 23:30 in the UK. The main card will steam at 9:00pm East-Coast Time and will be finished by 11pm, which is 02:00am GMT, finishing at 04:00am.
