Lion Fight 28

Lion Fight Promotions have announced they will return to Foxwoods Resort Casino on Feb. 26 for Lion Fight 28. The show will be headlined by a Lion Fight Super Welterweight title fight.

“Smokin'” Jo Nattawut (55-5-2) defends his 154lb title against multi-time Muay Thai world champion Kem Sitsongpeenong (127-25-4).

The champion is coming off a TKO stoppage of Peters at Lion Fight 24, where he used his daggering elbows to stop the Brit in the third round. The super experienced Kem has forged himself on the international scene as one of Thailand’s toughest exports. Always a stellar test, Sitsongpeenong’s Kem proves a worthy challenger for Nattawut’s Super Welterweight crown.

Also, in the Lion Fight 28 co-main event, Lightweight Champion, Ognjen Topic (17-5-1) will make the inaugural defence of his title against The Netherlands’ Sergio Wielzen (40-9-2).

The event follows Lion Fight 27, which takes place on Jan. 29 in Temecula, Cali and features Welterweight champion Fabio Pinca against Charlie Peters.

An interesting side note, Lion Fight 28 takes place on the same day as GLORY 27 in Chicago, topped by Artem Levin vs. Simon Marcus, the rubber match. With recent announcements by Lion Fight; including their partnership with UK based Muay Thai Grand Prix, the dynamic between Lion Fight and GLORY could be an interesting narrative in the latter part of 2016.
