Rico Verhoeven, “The King of Kickboxing,” returns to the GLORY ring next month when the promotion heads back to the Netherlands.

The GLORY heavyweight champion will now headline the upcoming GLORY 41 card slated for Saturday May 20 in Den Bosch, Netherlands at Brabanthallen Exhibition Centre. The promotion announced the news on Wednesday. An opponent has not been named.

Verhoeven (50-10), 27, is coming off a second-round TKO victory over Badr Hari in a non-title fight at GLORY: COLLISION, which took place last December. The Dutch champion has now defended his title five consecutive times and owns a 13-1 record inside the GLORY ring.

The previously announced headliner for GLORY 41, a featherweight title fight between Robin van Roosmalen and GLORY 39 “Contender” tournament winner Petchpanomrung Kiatmookao, will now serve as the main event for the GLORY 41 Superfight Series.

Also of note for the Superfight Series: the previously announced co-main event between middleweights Mike Lemaire and Zhou Wei will not take place on that card. Both fighters will be rebooked for bouts at a later date.

In addition to the headliner, GLORY 41 will feature a four-man, one-night “Contender” tournament in the heavyweight division. Those four participants, as well as the night’s co-main event are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
