Featured on MMADigest, the Albuquerque Police Department in New Mexico, USA have released Police camera footage and 911 audio from the scene of the previously reported hit and run incident involving former UFC Light-Heavyweight Champion, Jon Jones.

UFC president Dana White featured on the April 28 edition “FOX Sports Live” where he addressed the decision to suspend indefinitely and strip Jon Jones of the title following the alleged hit-and-run car accident.

Jones’ most recent opponent and former title challenger Daniel Cormier (15-1) stepped in to face top contender Anthony Johnson (19-4) and won the vacant crown at UFC 187 on May 23.

Jones (21-1) turned himself in and has since been charged for fleeing the scene of the accident that left a pregnant woman with a broken arm. Jones later posted $2,500 bail to leave the Bernalillo County Metro Detention Center.

It’s alleged that Jones ran a red light which caused the accident. A man matching Jones’ description fled from an SUV, but returned to grab a handful of cash before fleeing the scene once again, according to witnesses.

A marijuana pipe, marijuana, and rental paperwork linking the vehicle to Jones were found by an off duty police officer who identified the 27-year-old.
