According to MMA Junkie, Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva (18-5-1) is to be suspended for nine months and stripped of his $50,000 Fight of the Night bonus from battling to a draw against Mark Hunt at UFC Fight Night in Brisbane, Australia on Dec.7.

Having been granted an exemption for Testosterone Replacement Therapy due to low testosterone levels, the Brazilian heavyweight reportedly failed the post-fight drug test due to elevated testosterone levels above the acceptable limit.

With the Australian card being regulated by the promotion,“The greatest fight in heavyweight history” is to be overturned from a draw to a ‘no contest’ on Silva’s record, while Hunt will maintain the draw.

Via MMAJunkie.com: “Silva is on a medically approved regimen of testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), and had been in compliance with therapeutic guidelines on all pre-fight tests performed prior to the event,” a statement issued by a UFC rep read. “The results of his test on the day of the event indicated a level of testosterone outside of allowable limit. Silva has been informed that the elevated testosterone level is a violation of the UFC Fighter Conduct Policy and his Promotional Agreement with Zuffa.”

It’s said that Silva’s low testosterone levels are the result of his back and forth encounter with Gigantism, involving numerous drug treatments in order to battle a pituitary gland cyst of which released excess growth hormones into his body.
