Carnival City certainly produced a circus in the main event of EFC 65 with one of the most bizarre title fights of the year.
England’s Stuart Austin dominated champion Dalcha Lungiambula in the opening round but tides quickly turned.
The challenger, fresh off the face of his EFC debut win, produced the goods in the first round when he took Dalcha to the ground and controlled him for the remainder.
Austin came close to a first round finish but the South African was saved by the bell.
The second round saw Dalcha come out firing, landing a big right hand, forcing a grimace from Austin. Dalcha then took Austin to the floor and stopped the fight with some vicious ground and pound.

Scotsman Calum Murrie faced the toughest test of his career against the vastly experienced South African Body Allen.
Murrie, in just his fourth fight as a professional, fell short against Allen and lost the fight via unanimous decision with the South African showcasing effective striking in the process.

Domestic success for the United Kingdom’s representatives was eventually found in the form of Gavin Hughes who cruised to a unanimous decision victory over Deon Brunning.
The Liverpudlian climbed to 9-0, keeping his perfect record intact and will likely be high in the pecking order for a title shot.
