The British Association of Mixed Martial Arts (BAMMA) have today revealed that current BAMMA World Featherweight Champion Tom Duquesnoy will face Ashleigh Grimshaw (pictured above) on the card of BAMMA 16: Daley vs Fernandes at Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse on September 13.
The bout was originally set for BAMMA 15 earlier this year on April.4 with the vacant title up for grabs, however negotiations fell through and Duquesnoy (9-1) instead faced fellow Frenchman and training partner Teddy Violet. The 21-year-old ‘Fire Kid’ continued his run of fine form and produced wonderful transitions to submit Violet with a second round triangle choke, having previously TKO’d James Saville back in December of 2013 for what was a highly impressive BAMMA debut.

The champion faces a huge challenge in the form of 32-year-old Grimshaw (16-8-1-1NC) who brings 11 years of professional experience to the cage. On June.7 Grimshaw returned to BAMMA for the first time in 4-years and dispatched of Dragan Pesic in dominant fashion with a solid veteran’s performance at BAMMA Fight Night: Askham vs Nunes, reminding everyone of his ability. Team Titan’s ‘Cruiser’ is currently on a streak of six successive victories consisting of all first round stoppages.
