Middleweight: Roggy Lawson (7-1) vs Andy De Vent (10-9)
The Victoria Warehouse, Manchester. Sept 13 – De-Vent secured a double leg against the fence to bring down Lawson who noticeably carried more bulk. Lawson looked to regain his feet only for the Englishman to cut him back down with ease; swiping the Frenchman’s legs away and securing back control as Lawson presented the opening.
The second round began with Lawson attempting to strike stiffly with nothing able to cover the distance. He was soon forced back towards the fence and mounted on the ground. Lawson appeared to be clueless as De-Vent worked a Rear Naked Choke but despite this, he refused to give up the submission and instead found himself bullied by the ground and pound of his opponent.
The result was a forgone conclusion with calls for Lawson’s cornermen to put him out of his misery, nonetheless, Lawson stepped out for the final round, but was chased around the cage by De-Vent who landed several punches before securing a leg once again, and forcing Lawson back to the ground. Similar to round two, De-Vent took the back of his opponent, but this time finished with strikes for a TKO stoppage.
