January 20th.14: Battle Arena – one of the UK’s leading amateur mixed martial arts promotions, are extremely proud to announce the Amateur World Championships on September 27th 2014.
Co-promoted by Battle Arena and the USA’s Fighters Source. Top amateur teams from across the globe will be competing on Battle Arena/Fighters Source cards throughout 2014, and Sept 27th will see Team UK facing off against Team USA on British soil. Furthermore, with a US television deal secured, this exciting event will be available to 120 million households.
Team UK will be decided at Battle Arena: Wolverhampton on July.26, when a lineup of the UK’s best amateurs will battle to secure their place in the UK squad.
Battle Arena CEO James Price said: “Battle Arena is really pleased to be rolling out this event throughout Europe. I am really excited about working with Fighters Source on this project. Hosting the World Championships on the 27th Sept in London is a dream come true. We will be bringing over top teams from all over the world to compete. Team UK will be fighting Team USA – The UK team will be picked 26th July in Wolverhampton when the UK’s top am fighters will be given the chance to fight for a place on the team. So fighters get in touch! The contenders event and World Championship event are being filmed for TV channels around the world but the first airing will be in the USA as part of the Fighters Source television program, and this will be going out to 120 million homes. I love the fact that we can give amateur fighters the international opportunities and exposure that they deserve.
