UFC heavyweight Roy “Big Country” Nelson (19-7) could sensationally be asked to fill the gap left by Mark Hunt if his visa issues are not resolved in time for Saturday’s co-main event at UFC 160, according to UFC tonight.

No official offer has been made at the time of reporting this story, but it is believed that with time rapidly running out, an offer will be mad to the Las Vergas resident within the next 24-48 hours.

Hunt’s current visa issues stem from an arrest date back to 2002. While he was cleared to enter in 2011, it’s reported that Hunt’s renewed passport is required to go through the Visa process once again.

Nelson has previously faced Hunt’s UFC 160 opponent, former heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos, and was handed a Unanimous decision loss at UFC 117, so there will be added incentive for Nelson to take this fight given the fact he has lost to the Brazilian in the past.
