Prior to UFC Fight Night 26, it was reported that Chael Sonnen (29-13-1) planned on a middleweight return following his light-heavyweight contest with Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua (21-8) on August 17. However, with a first round Submission of the Night victory over the former champion, it looks as if Sonnen could be sticking around at 205lbs.

Talk of a highly anticipated grudge match between Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva at 185lbs appears to be fading, and light-heavyweight wrestling specialist Phil Davis has been rumoured to be ‘The American Gangster’s’ next foe.

However, Sonnen decided to mix things up via Twitter, seemingly calling out, if not teasing a potential fight with his Fox Sports co-host Rashad Evans, in the co-main event of UFC 167, Nov 16.

A former light-heavyweight champion himself, Evans (18-3-1) most recently won a split-decision victory over MMA legend Dan Henderson at UFC 161 in June. Sonnen continued; “I’ll give you one hint,” and posted the following image:
