UFC 189: Official Weigh-in. McGregor

It has today been announced that Irish superstar Conor McGregor (16-2) will face Germany’s Dennis Siver (22-9) at UFC Fight Night 59 in Boston, Massachusetts.

On Tuesday’s edition of the BT Sports show beyond the octagon McGregor expressed his desire to remain active and get at least one more fight under his belt before a potential crack at the winner of this Saturday’s UFC 179 main event between Chad “Money” Mendes and UFC featherweight kingpin Jose Aldo.

26-year old Dubliner, was expected to wait it out for a rumored crack at the featherweight belt after an impressive 2014 which has seen him bounce back from serious injury to defeat both Diego Brandao in front of an hometown crowd and then make light work of American Dustin Poirier at UFC 178 last month.

McGregor his opponent Siver made an impressive return to the octagon with an unanimous decision victory over Charles Rosa at UFC FIght Night 53 after receiving a ban for elevated levels of human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG).

UFC Fight Night 59 goes down on Saturday, January 18th, 2015 at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.
