(October 29th.13) BAMMA officials have this morning confirmed that Curt Warburton (12-4) has been released from his BAMMA contract.
The 3-fight UFC veteran, who has beaten the likes of current UFC star Ross “The Real Deal” Pearson, Tim Newman and current Cage Warriors Lightweight world champion Steven Ray during a 6 year, 16-fight career, will now seek a new challenge elsewhere.
Warburton most recently vacated his BAMMA British Lightweight title to take a crack at their World title at BAMMA 13. Unfortunately for him, Warburton was on the wrong end of a shock first round knockout loss to Mansour Barnaoui who will now go on to defend his title against fan favorite Colin ‘Freakshow’ Fletcher at BAMMA 14 on 14th December.
BAMMA’s director, Ashley Bothwell, said: “We wish Curt all the best in his future endeavours.”
MMAPLUS will bring you more on this story as we get it.
