The Ultimate Fighting Championship has today announced that Brazilian welterweight Erick Silva (16-5-1) is set to face Roufusport fighter Mike “Biggie” Rhodes (6-3) in his next outing inside the octagon.
The bout, which is scheduled to take place at UFC Fight Night 58, will be Silva’s first appearance since the Team Nogueira/X-Gym trained welterweight was on the wrong end of a 3rd round TKO loss to Matt Brown at UFC Fight Night 40 this past May.
Facing the Brazilian will be former RFA welterweight champion Rhodes who will look to earn his first win inside the octagon after back to back decision losses to George Sullivan at UFC on Fox 10 and more recently against Scotland’s Robert Whittaker at UFC Fight Night 43 this past June.
The main event of UFC Fight Night 58 features a middleweight clash between former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida and. C.B. Dollaway and will be held at the Ginásio José Corrêa in Barueri, Brazil on December 20.
