Luke Barnatt may have come up short in ‘The Battle of Britain’ to Scott Askham, but he isn’t about to start fighting bums in hope of gaining some easy wins.

At the Sheffield Arena on September 23, Askham thrived in front of his pro-Yorkshire crowd, controlling the centre of the cage and landing numerous heavy hands on the usually elusive Barnatt.

Fellow UFC veteran Askham was Barnatt’s third fight in ACB but “Bigslow” has struggled to build on the momentum he had outside the Russian promotion, losing to Mamed Khalidov in the first fight, before scoring a big knockout over Max Nunes.

The 29-year-old spoke to MMA Plus, admitting he expected a different gameplan from Askham but confirmed that he will now officially move to the light-heavyweight division, making his fight to Askham the last middleweight bout of his career.
