Finland’s Aleksi Mantykivi (10-4) will have the pleasure of welcoming the Spain’s Enrique Marin to the promotion at EuroFC 02 on February 11th in Prague.

Marin had a short yet eventful time in the UFC. He made it to the finale of TUF: Latin America 2 after winning all his fights in the house but lost a close split decision to Erick Montano at UFC Fight Night 78 in Monterray, Mexico. Despite losing the finale Marin got another shot in the UFC and his next assignment would turn out to be against Sage Northcutt at the monumental UFC 200 card. He would drop down to lightweight but ultimately lost via decision.

EuroFC 02 will mark the first fight in a new multi-fight contract Aleksi Mantykivi has signed with EuroFC. The lightweight made his promotional debut at EuroFC 1 with an emphatic first round TKO win over the previously undefeated Soren Bak.

Marin had the following to say about Mantykivi and what he expects in their fight.

“I have only seen a little about him, but from what I have seen it is clear that he is very good, very solid, and very strong. Overall just very good fighter. About where I’ll have the advantage, I don’t know right now. I think all the fights are totally different. And with an opponent so complete as Aleksi, it’s difficult to know it. I prefer to flow during the match.”

With Mantykivi obviously full of confidence after his win at EuroFC the Finnish fighter is looking forward to getting such an opportunity to compete against a fighter of Marin’s experience.

“Enrique is a UFC vet. He made it to TUF finale and fought at UFC 200. He is a great fighter and I think this is a good opportunity for me to showcase my skills against such a high-profile opponent. I feel I have the advantage everywhere in this contest. It will be a good win for me.”
