Irish MMA star Peter Queally will return to Russia this month to take on lightweight Islam Begidov under the Eurasia Fight Nights banner in the co-main event of Fight Nights Global 72 later this month. The announcement was made by Queally through Twitter before he was later added to the card on the promotion’s official website.
Fight Nights Global 72, or simply FNG 72, will take place on Thursday, August 24 at the Ice Cube in Sochi, Russia and will feature a bantamweight main event of Canadian journeyman Josh Hill (15-2) taking on Russian prospect Grachik Engibaryan.

Queally made his debut for the Russian promotion back in April of this year with a dominant unanimous decision victory over Igor Egorov at FNG 64. The Cage Warriors veteran is riding a two fight win streak since a loss to fellow Irishman Joe McColgan at BAMMA 26 and was nearly signed by the UFC to face Tim Means on short notice in August 2016 although visa issues scuppered the deal for the 31-year-old.
His opponent Begidov has lost two on the bounce and has only won two of his last seven fights during his time with EFN. His last win was in February 2016.
