The exciting card of UFC Fight Night 43 has now welcomed the highlight addition of Ross Pearson (15-6) vs Diego Sanchez (24-7), first reported by the Albuquerque Journal.
Taking place in Albuquerque, New Mexico on June 7; Sanchez will compete in his home town for the first time since 2004 when he competed at King of the Cage 35. The seven-time Fight of the Night winner is looking to rectify a slump of back-to-back losses; including defeat at the hands of Gilbert Melendez by way of unanimous decision in a 2013 Fight of the Year cotender, and most recently a second decision loss to Miles Jury on March 15 at UFC 171.
In contrast, Britain’s Ross ‘The Real Deal’ Pearson is set to be back in action following a knee injury sustained during preparation for a rematch with Melvin Guillard; the pair first met at UFC FN: Machida vs Munoz in Manchester last October where the bout was declared a ‘no-contest’ due to an accidental illegal knee landed by Guillard. Prior to that, Pearson was most recently victorious in Stockholm, Sweden where the Sunderland native finished Ryan Couture in the second round.
