In the headline bout of UFC on Fox this past Saturday, Robbie Lawler (24-10-1NC) earned a second shot at Johny Hendricks and the UFC Welterweight Championship when he defeat no.5 ranked contender Matt Brown (19-12) by unanimous decision in what was the Fight of the Night in San Jose, California.

Lawler (pictured) and Hendricks faced off earlier this year on March.15 with the vacant 170lb title up for grabs and after an entertaining contest, Hendricks took the belt with a unanimous decision victory. Lawler went on to knock out Jake Ellenberger at UFC 173 in May before facing Brown on July.26, however Hendricks (16-2) is yet to compete since taking the crown due to a torn bicep, and his first defense will be a rematch with Lawler, the no.1 ranked contender.

Following last weekend’s UFC on Fox, a content Matt Brown congratulated his opponent via Twitter, meanwhile the reigning champion acknowledged the challenge that awaits him.
