As Britain’s Ian Entwistle counts down the final week of preperations before making his UFC debut, Phuket Top Team, the renown Thai camp that ‘Enty’ calls home, are confident that the submission phenom is showing prime form and that Daniel Hooker, who will be the home favourite in Auckland, New Zealand on Jun.28, has bitten off much more than he can chew.

27-year-old Entwistle (8-1) currently boasts one of the fastest finishing rates in MMA today. Of his eight career victories, each and every one has been claimed in the opening round with numerous stoppages coming in less than a single minute, and the majority being claimed before the 2-minute mark. Most recently, Entwistle pulled off one of the best submissions you could have seen anywhere in 2013, at Cage Warriors 62 with a Heel Hook sub over Liam James just twenty-four seconds into the fight.

Having fought predominantly in domestic promotions between Australia and New Zealand, Hooker (10-4) has produced eye-catching stats of his own with nine stoppages in ten career wins. ‘The Hangman’ is currently undefeated in the Australian Fighting Championship, and similar to Entwistle’s current run of four successive submission wins, is on a five-fight win streak featuring two submissions and three TKO’s.

The two lightweights meet in Auckland, New Zealand at the Vector Arena on June 28.
