Swedish middleweight Tor Troeng (16-6) will step out in front of a supportive home crowd at UFC Fight Night in Stockholm’s Globe Arena this weekend where he takes on Poland’s Krzysztof Jotko (14-1).
As a veteran of The Ultimate Fighter Season 17, Troeng was referred to by several fighters as the most talented contestant on the show despite not winning the overall contest.
Following TUF 17 ‘The Hammer’ made a promising UFC debut in the same venue that awaits him this Saturday. Victory was claimed with a first round rear naked choke submission over his fellow TUF 17 competitor Adam Cella however, Troeng has since lost two consecutive bouts; firstly to Rafael Natal via unanimous decision last September, and most recently to Trevor Smith at UFC Fight Night in Dublin this past July where Troeng conceded another unanimous decision loss.
Troeng acknowledged that it’s “make or break” for him on Oct. 4, with the general rule of three straight loses, while not always enforced, can result in being released from the World’s leading MMA promotion. With support from his team at Sweden’s renown AllStars Training Center, the family atmosphere has aided the 31-year-old’s development, and ’The Hammer’ expects to claim himself a much needed win by way of stoppage in the second round.
