This morning Women’s mixed martial arts took another giant step forward with UFC President Dana White’s announcement that undefeated Scottish straw-weight sensation Joanne Calderwood is one of eleven female fighters who have had their Invicta contracts brought out by the worlds number 1 mixed martial arts organization.
The straw-weights will feature on the first all women season of “The Ultimate Fighter” and see them compete for the inaugural UFC straw-weight title.

Today’s announcement of an all-female season of TUF comes fast off the heels of season 18 of the popular series which featured the first female cast members. Filming for the show will begin 18th May 2014.
