An injury to Tommy Maguire has forced a late change to next weekend’s Cage Warriors 66 card in Copenhagen, Denmark.

His opponent, Damir Hadzovic, will still clash with Maguire at the Ballerup Super Arena on Saturday, March 22, but instead it will be Tommy’s older brother John (pictured) in the opposite corner.

Tommy, 26, was forced out of the lightweight bout yesterday after sustaining an injury, so 30-year-old John has stepped in to replace him on short notice, opting to fight just 21 days after his last outing.

John Maguire (19-7), a five-fight UFC veteran, was edged out by Saul Rogers via unanimous decision in the main event at CWFC 65 in Dublin on March 1.

He said: “I’m a fighter and, as a fighter, I’m always ready to step in, accept a challenge and compete.”

Maguire has been stopped just once in his 26 professional bouts to date, while Hadzovic (7-2) has taken all but one of his victories inside the distance, with his two losses coming at the hands of current undefeated UFC pair Krzysztof Jotko and Andreas Stahl.

Damir Hadzovic and John Maguire will clash in a 155lbs bout on the main card at Cage Warriors 66, CWFC’s first event in Scandinavia, a week tomorrow. Tickets are available HERE.
