UKMMA standout Max ‘Power’ Nunes is set to compete in his homeland of Sweden for the first time since becoming a professional mixed martial artist. A product of London’s New Wave Academy; Nunes (13-2) made a name for himself as a UK based contender, but has now returned to his country of origin.

A first career loss to BAMMA World Light-Heavyweight Champion Jason Jones last year prompted a move to 185lbs where Nunes out-performed recently signed UFC contender Ion Pascu. In his attempt to claim the BAMMA world middleweight title most recently on Jun. 7; Nunes suffered a third round TKO loss to UFC middleweight Scott Askham, but the 25-year-old now continues to evolve among the ranks of Sweden’s famed AllStars Training Center with the likes of Alexander Gustafsson and Ilir Latifi.

At SC 11 on Nov. 29, Nunes takes on Frenchman Patrick Vallee (10-7-1-1NC). As a former champion of French promotion 100% Fight, the durable veteran turned heads in UKMMA at BAMMA 9 in 2012 with a memorable arm-bar submission victory against Andrew Punshon. ‘Dexter’ has since appeared under multiple banners including KSW, M-1, and Cage Warriors as a welterweight; however, a pair of recent losses has sparked change with the 34-year-old veteran now opting once again for competition at 185lbs, and what will likely be a less taxing weight cut.
