According to Sherdog.com, former Strikeforce welterweight champion and UFC title contender Nick Diaz is in the process of launching an MMA promotion of his own.
It’s reported that Diaz and his camp are building War Mixed Martial Arts, based out of the Diaz Brothers’ home town of Stockton, California, with a targeted event date of June 22 at the Stockton Arena. Sources verified that the 29-year-old has already reserved a website address and Twitter handle for Nick Diaz Promotions, while also applying for a temporary promoter’s license from the California State Athletic Commission.
If the temporary license is granted and Diaz’ promotional debut runs according to plan, he may then welcomed to apply for a full promoter’s license, according to CSAC Executive Director Andy Foster.
