British mixed martial artist “Slick” Nick Osipczak (5-3) has today announced his intention to come out of retirement and make his return to MMA.

Osipczak took to twitter today and had the following to say about his return to mixed martial arts after almost a 3 and a half-year absence.

“After my fights and wins in the UFC, and a short break to create my own family, now I’ve been asked to return – and I already feel REBORN!!!”

The former Ultimate Fighter Season 9: United States vs. United Kingdom contestant made an impressive start to his MMA career, going 5-0 defeating the likes of Geoff Hayes, Frank Lester and Matt Riddle.

But after a change in fortune, the former Rough House/New Wave Academy fighter would suffer 3 close decision losses while competing in the UFC, the last of which was at UFC 122 in November 2010 where he suffered a split decision defeat to Duane Ludwig.

During his absence Osipczak would turn his attentions to the internal arts, by studying Tai Chi before the call of MMA became to hard for him to resist.

No official date has been set for Osipczak mixed martial arts return, but tonight rumors are rife that he will make a return to a UFC card in the near future.
