British welterweight Paul ‘Semtex’ Daley is set to headline BAMMA 16 on Sept.13 at Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse. The UFC veteran will take on Brazil’s Igor Fernandes who has been drafted in for a debut appearance on BAMMA, first reported by MMAFighting.com.

Currently balancing simultaneous careers in both MMA and kickboxing, knockout specialist Daley (MMA record, 34-13-2) last competed in the cage at BAMMA 14 on Dec.14, 2013 where Romario Manoel da Silva was crushed by the knockout power of ‘Semtex’ in the second round. Since then, Daley returned to his kickboxing roots and has put together a 4-0 run of consecutive knockout victories.

Stepping back into MMA, Daley takes on another Brazilian in the form of Igor Fernandes (18-6). In contrast to Daley’s knockout reputation, ‘Chatubinha’ is quite the opposite with 14 out of 18 career victories coming by way of submission, furthermore with an impressive tally of 13 Anaconda Choke stoppages. Fernandes has only been finished once by TKO and otherwise has only been defeated via the judges scorecards. He was last defeated in 2010 and has since produced the best form of his career with a 6-fight win streak consisting of four submissions and two knockouts.
