Sheila Gaff (10-6) has become the first woman to be cut from the UFC, following a string of two losses since her call up to the promotion’s sole womens division.

Following a series of 3 knockout victories as a flyweight, ‘The German Tank’ signed a four-fight UFC deal in March. However, Gaff’s latest win streak ended upon her UFC debut, at the hands of America’s wrestling Olympian Sara McMann via TKO, at UFC 159 in April. Gaff’s release comes following a second TKO loss at 163, this time against Amanda Nunes.

Via Germany’s GroundandPound.de, Gaff explained:

“Disappointments and defeats happen to all athletes in this career, but I will go on. Most of all I am sorry that I could not show my fans what I can really do. In the last two weeks my love and uplifting words many of my fans have helped.”
