Andrei Stoica and and the new hero Moises Baute from Spain where the big stars of the third edition of Superkombat World Grand Prix of this year, held in Romania’s seaside resort Constanta last weekend. The Romanian fighter successfully defended his Superkombat® super cruiserweight title after an impressive victory against the challenger Ali Cenik from Turkey, while Moises Baute won the cruiserweight tournament imposing in both matches by knockout.
After he managed to destroy the invincibility of Ondrej Hutnik and won the Superkombat® super cruiserweight title, Andrei Stoica (32-6-0) started in force with Ali Cenik (47-7-4), the man who defeated before Alexey Ignashov, Roman Kleibl and Sergej Maslobojev. Even the start of the first half, a powerful left hook to budge Ali Cenik, which has withstood the burts of punches. It looked replica with several combinations, but Andrei Stoica was like a hurricane and managed to dominate the center of the ring. After 3 extremely spectacular rounds, the international judges from Netherlands, Morocco and Romania have unanimously declared Andrei Stoica as a winner, score 30-27, 30-28 and 30-27.
In the cruiserweight tournament, Moises Baute from Spain, 10 wins (6 by KO) and 3 losses before Superkombat®, was the biggest surprise of the night. With a vicious right hook, Moises Baute turned to the beast mode against the new hero Cristian Ristea from Romania and in the third round the Romanian sensation didn’t had the strenght to get tup from the floor after he was knockedown for the third time during the fight. In the first semifinal of the night, the winner of Superkombat World Tryouts from Middlesbrough, United Kingdom, Michael Terrill, won by unanimous deicsion against the winner of Superkombat World Tryouts from Almere, Netherlands, Patrick Van Rees.
A demolisher, Moises Baute started the final with the same agressive style, but with a good tehnique, Michael Terrill managed to win the first round and succesfully resisted in the second. The right hook saved Moises Baute again and the British was counted for the first time in the start of the third round, the fight being stopped with 50 seconds before the end. Moises Baute is qualified for Superkombat World Grand Prix Final Elimination scheduled on October 25 and threaten the supremacy of Igor Bugaenko.
In the superfights series, D’Angelo “Pretty Boy” Marshall, 2013 Superkombat World Grand Prix finalist, made his comeback in the ring with a win against the Belgian colossus Tomas Vaneste via unanimous decision. Also, in another heavyweight bout, the Romanian prospect Dorin Robert defeated the Georgian Shota Dolidze after three hard rounds.
The event host in partnership with the Romanian Riviera Tourism Board continued with a huge afterparty in Bellagio Club, one of the most famous clubs from Mamaia resort with more than 400 members of the staff, fighters, fans and sponsors.
Superkombat® season will continue on August 2nd with a Superkombat New Heroes event.
